Description of Experience

FAU Harbor Branch welcomes you to go behind the scenes with one of our outreach scientists to gain a greater understanding of the significant research conducted by the Institute. During this 1.5-hour tour, participants will explore our 144-acre waterfront campus, learn about our history, hear highlights of the cutting-edge research being conducted by our marine scientists and engineers, and discover the impact that our work has on their everyday lives. The experience will also include a photo-op in front of our iconic Johnson Sea Link deep-sea submersible as well as views of the Indian River Lagoon and Florida wildlife.

Preparing for your Tour

Please arrive at the FAU Harbor Branch Ocean Discovery Visitors Center at 12:45 pm, the tour will begin promptly at 1 pm. All tours leave on time, rain or shine. The tour will end at 2:30 pm. During the experience, we will make multiple stops and get in and out of the tour tram. Wear comfortable clothing suited to the weather and outdoor elements. Guests 18 and over must bring photo identification and all guests are encouraged to bring a hat, umbrella, water bottle, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and a camera.

FAU Harbor Branch is located at 5600 US 1 North, Fort Pierce, Florida. The Ocean Discovery Visitors Center is the blue building located between US 1 and Old Dixie Highway on Ocean Studies Drive.
