The Indian River Lagoon Symposium (IRLS) is a collaborative, one-day gathering dedicated to advanced science, dialogue, and stewardship for one of Florida’s most important ecosystems. Since its launch in 2012, the symposium has provided a vital forum for sharing the latest research and translating knowledge into strategies for the management and protection of the lagoon.

Each year, the symposium unites scientists, resource managers, educators, students, and members of the public with a shared purpose: to deepen understanding, foster collaboration, and strengthen the connection between scientific discovery and real-world action.

This year’s symposium will take place as a focused, one-day event centered on the theme “Emerging Technology and Novel Methods.” By narrowing the program to a single day, the event will provide a concentrated forum for presentations, discussions, and networking opportunities.

IRL Symposium 2026 — REGISTRATION CLOSED
We have reached capacity for Thursday, February 19, 2026, and registration is closed. Registration by authorization is limited to individuals who have been notified that they are being moved off the waitlist. If you would like to be notified should space become available, please join the waitlist.

Presenter registration and abstract submission: October 17 – November 24, 2025
General registration: December 15, 2025 – January 30, 2026 (or until capacity is reached)
Abstract submission deadline: November 24, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.
Registration fees are non-refundable after January 30, 2026
Registration rates:
- Regular/Professional: $80
- Student – Graduate: $40
- Student – Undergraduate: $30
- Student – High School: $30

IRL Symposium 2026 Merchandise

Registered attendees can purchase official IRL Symposium 2026 merchandise to celebrate this year's event. Choose from a long-sleeved performance shirt featuring the IRL Symposium logo on the front and a 2026 themed design on the back, or a T-shirt with the 2026 themed design on the front.

Order window: October 17, 2025 – January 30, 2026
Pickup: Merchandise must be picked up at registration on February 19, 2026
